Carole Calvez

Olfactory Designer & Nose

Iris & Morphée · France

Olfactory designer and nose Carole Calvez shows us how to reconnect with the sensoriality and memory of scents through a narrative approach dedicated to scenography, museography, and mediation: in her Parisian laboratory at Le JAD, she creates scents and brings them to life through spaces, sensory experiences, and objects.

She works in close collaboration with artists, researchers, historians, art craftsmen and designers to explore the olfactory sense.

Calvez has contributed to Odeuropa, the European project dedicated to the creation and preservation of olfactory heritage. In 2024, one of her olfactory reconstructions (the scent of the Liberty Bell) entered the Osmotheque, the famous international perfume conservatory located in Versailles.
