Alexis Georgacopoulos (Athens, 1976) is Director of the ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne. Founded in 1821, the ECAL is regularly ranked among the top 10 art and design schools in the world. A product designer by training, Georgacopoulos graduated from the ECAL in 1999 and became its director in July 2011, having previously headed its Product Design Department.

He believes in placing students at the forefront of art and design education, developing links with the professional world through collaborations with major brands and institutions, and broadening the ECAL's horizons in the world of entrepreneurship, research, technology and innovation.
