Dr Miro Ng is a gemologist with a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Hong Kong. With 17 years of frontline lab certification and teaching experience, Dr Ng started Centre for Gemmological Research (CGR) in 2019 in Hong Kong and the Mainland with the focus on practical gemology and tailored courses for the industry, including gem identification, gemstone treatment, research instrument development and consultancy. He is also an active contributor and participant in various associations and conferences, holding online and in-person seminars. Dr Ng is a gemologist and professor at L'ÉCOLE, School of Jewelry Arts, supported by Van Cleef & Arpels.

Dr Ng also holds roles as HRD Certified Diamond Grader; Asia Manager of mindat.org; Director of International Pearl Consortium; and Delegate of International Gemmological Conference (IGC).
